Taking a Cornish brewery direct

Client: Keltek Brewery
Strategy, design and build:
Laurence Jarrett-Kerr

Keltek have been brewing in Cornwall since 1997. The name is Cornish for Celtic and the beers carry the legends with them, Beheaded, Grim Reaper, Panning for Gold, names drawn from Arthurian myth, mining history and the sea. They built the business through their own pubs and the trade, with Taste of the West and SIBA awards behind them and a solar-powered brewery in Redruth. What they didn't have was a way of selling to the people drinking the beer.

Make direct-to-consumer a real channel, not a shop that happens to exist.

The funnel

The winning hook, and the whole campaign hangs off it. Ad, question, email, landing page, all pointing at the Mixed Case. The second purchase points at their favourite.

We had already rebuilt their shop on Shopify. This was the next part, turning direct-to-consumer into a real channel.

We started with hook testing. Ten lines against the same audience, small budget, to find out what people actually responded to before spending properly on any of it.

Then two campaigns off the back of it. One to build the list, collecting birthdays so there is a reason to get in touch that isn't a discount. One to sell, running the winning creative at the shop.

THE RESULTS

Measured to 16 October 2026.

→ Orders up 92% year on year

→ £6.10 back for every £1 of ad spend, blended

→ Repeat orders starting to roll in

All of this began with two sessions working out where the subscription was leaking, who actually stays, and what the offer should have been. That's the Subscription and Loyalty Workshop. £1,500, and £500 of it comes off whatever we build together next.
